About
Diversity & Inclusion
USA Times aims to reflect the city it covers.
New York is among the most diverse places on Earth, and our reporting is stronger when our contributors come from the same range of backgrounds, neighborhoods, and life experiences as our readers.
Our newsroom
Most of our contributors are working New Yorkers — drivers, restaurant workers, residents — rather than career journalists. This is deliberate. We believe the city makes more sense to readers when it is reported by the people running it day-to-day.
How we hire and assign
- Open contributor slots are advertised publicly.
- We consider applicants regardless of formal journalism experience.
- We do not require a college degree for any role.
- Story assignments are matched to writers who have direct knowledge of the subject.
How to get involved
