Sponsored Content
USA Times accepts sponsored content from advertisers. We follow industry best practices for keeping it visibly separate from editorial reporting.
Labeling
Sponsored articles are:
- Clearly labeled “SPONSORED CONTENT” at the top of the page in a color and weight readers cannot miss.
- Credited to the sponsor, not to a USA Times reporter.
- Excluded from homepage news slots that mix with editorial stories.
- Excluded from our main RSS feed.
What sponsors can control
- The content of their sponsored article, subject to our standards on accuracy, legality, and taste.
- Headline and images.
- Calls to action linking to the sponsor’s site.
What sponsors cannot control
- Editorial coverage by USA Times reporters.
- Article placement that would mislead readers about the sponsored nature of the piece.
- Removal of disclosure labels.
What we will not accept
- Sponsored content promoting products illegal in New York.
- Sponsored content making factual claims about identifiable people without consent.
- Sponsored content disguised as news reporting.
